Container Having Barrier Properties and Method of Manufacturing the Same

A method of manufacturing a multilayer or a monolayer plastic container is disclosed. The container has a barrier layer manufactured from (i) a polyester resin, preferably an aromatic polyester resin such as a polyethylene terephthalate, (ii) a polyamide material, preferably an aromatic polyamide material, and (iii) an oxygen scavenging material, preferably a transition method. The present invention also provides containers having a multilayer or a monolayer body. In the preparation of the barrier layer. a preform first is prepared by an injection-molding process wherein a preblend containing a diluent polyester, polyamide material, and an oxygen scavenging material is added to a base polyester during the injection molding process. The preform then is expanded to form a container.

It relates to a process for producing a purified essential oil by treating an essential oil comprising a contaminant with an active carbon to remove the contaminant and the removal rate of the contaminant is further improved by using an active carbon activated with a chemical, particularly an active carbon activated with zinc chloride, in the treatment, or by conducting the treatment at a low temperature of room temperature or lower, particularly at −25° C. to 5° C.

A food grilling rack provides a frame defined by a plurality of connected side walls forming a closed geometric shape. The frame includes a lower corrugated sheet that provides multiple troughs, each trough having a lowest portion. The lower sheet is attached to at least some of the side walls. An upper sheet is supported (e.g., removably) above the lower sheet. There are a plurality of openings in the upper sheet, each opening being vertically aligned with a lowest portion of a trough. A food stuffing apparatus provides a receptacle having an interior, an upper end portion with a larger opening and a lower end portion with a smaller opening, and a tapering portion in between the upper and lower end portions. A plunger is provided having a head, a lower end portion with a shaft having a lower pushing surface and a joint, joining the head to the shaft.

The present invention provides a dumpling producing method and a dumpling producing device. The method comprises the following steps: cutting a mechanically sheeted dough sheet of a unidirectional texture into dumpling wrappers of a pre-defined shape, filling the stuffing into the dumpling sheet, and wrapping the dumpling wrapper along a fold line at an angle of 0 to 20 degrees to the texture orientation of each dumpling wrapper to produce the dumplings. The device comprises: a cutting mechanism consisting of a cutting unit and a rotating unit, wherein the rotating unit is configured to cause an angle formed between the texture orientation of the dumping wrapper and the fold line to be within 0 to 20 degrees.

More specifically, the present invention, in its various embodiments, provides a process for manufacturing pet jerky treats comprising: grinding proteinaceous material, mixing said proteinaceous material with preservatives and flavor enhancers to form a blend of foodstuff, extruding said foodstuff through at least one die opening that is at least partially irregular to form at least one strip of extrudate that is at least partly irregular in shape, transporting said strip in a first longitudinal direction to a first cutting operation, cutting said strip at a first cutting angle to form a first set of pieces, transporting said first set of pieces in a second longitudinal direction to a second cutting operation, cutting said first set of pieces in said second cutting operation at a second angle to form a second set of pieces, such that the said second set of pieces cumulatively produced during a process run generally appear to be of random sizes and shapes.

An antimicrobial composition within an antioxidant solution and used to protect whole protein food source is provided. The antimicrobial compound of the composition is selected preferably from a medium chain fatty acid (MCFA), a long chain fatty acid (LCFA), a phenolic acid, and derivatives or mixtures thereof, and has a pH between about 2 and 6. Antioxidant compounds for the composition are composed preferably from phenolic based compounds such as butylated hydroxyanisole (BHA), butylated hydroxytoluene (butylhydroxytoluene, BHT), propyl gallate (propyl 3,4,5-trihydroxybenzoate), tert-butylhydroquinone (TBHQ, tertiary butylhydroquinone), mixed tocopherols (tocopherols, Vitamin E), rosemary extract, oregano oil (origanum oil) and vegetable oil; other antioxidant compounds such as calcium propanoate (or calcium propionate) and ethyoxyquin; and derivatives or mixtures thereof.
